Preserved specimens "Munididae"


In a glass jars, early 20th century, private collection from Finland.

Three aged marine specimens in glass jars from closed school/museum collection. One with dissected small sea star (Asteroidea), one with two small squat lobsters (probably Pleuroncodes planipes) and third one with various marine mollusks. Over the many years, formalin or alcohol used as a preservative has evaporated from the glass jars. Age-related wear, dust and dirt. Jars without labels. Size approx. 9,0cm x 4,5cm, 11,0cm x 3,1cm and 10,0cm x 3,5cm. Sell as a set.
