Aventurine is a style of quartz. It is most commonly green but also comes in shades of blue, red, orange, grey and brown. Chrome-bearing fuchsite (a variety of muscovite mica) is the classic inclusion and gives a silvery green or blue sheen. Oranges and browns are attributed to hematite or goethite. It has a platy minerals in the quartz that give it a shimmering quality known as aventurescence. Aventurine belongs to the mineral class of Chalcedony. The condition of the sample is excellent. Aventurine with stunning greenish blue color. Age-related wear, fractures and minor cracks may appear. Dirt and dust may exist. Size approx. 2,8cm x 2,1cm x 3,0cm. Weight c. 18g.
